The Problem
Government Portals are Brittle
Have you ever tried to upload a photo for a US Visa, NTA Registration, or Passport Renewal, only to see "Upload Failed"? Government portals are notoriously brittle. They crash if your photo has hidden metadata (EXIF), if the resolution is 1% too high, or if the file size is 201KB instead of 200KB. Users get stuck for hours trying to "guess" the right format.
The Solution
A Compliance Engine, Not Just a Compressor
I engineered Under 200KB—a specialized utility designed to bypass these strict digital gatekeepers. It automatically strips hidden metadata, forces compliance by intelligently resizing images without blurring faces, and operates entirely in-browser for privacy. No data leaves the user's phone.
Engineering for the Real World
Built for environments where bandwidth is expensive. The entire app respects the "37KB Rule" - smaller than a single low-quality JPEG, loading instantly on 3G networks. It uses the Canvas API for client-side processing, ensuring 100/100 Google Lighthouse performance.
Results & Interface
Inducted into the 512KB Club and recognized for top 1% efficiency engineering. Successfully used to bypass upload errors for US Visa, NTA, and Nigerian Immigration portals.
The Result
A True Digital Transformation
- ✓Scores 100/100 on Google Lighthouse
- ✓Offline capable with Service Workers
- ✓ Zero server-side processing (Privacy First)
- ✓Solved critical compliance issues for Visa/Passport applicants
